As a consultant, I advise organisations, councils, and businesses on the value and impact of the cultural sector. I bring extensive experience in grant writing, budget management, and developing long-term strategies that support sustainable growth and meaningful outcomes.
I also train artists and arts organisations on inclusive practice, working with challenging behaviour and facilitating safe spaces. My work is featured in the WJEC/Eduqas GCSE Drama Study & Revision Guide, was showcased Internationally at the Catch the Wave festival in Denmark, included in Osaka City University’s study of inclusive communities in Japan, and featured prominently in the new Arden Shakespeare publication ‘Multi-sensory Shakespeare & Specialised Communities’.
As a guest speaker I have addressed topics such as inclusive practice, women in leadership, and the challenges for people from working class and marginalised backgrounds on accessing opportunities within the arts. I have spoken at events and organisations, including the Shakespeare School’s Festival, Action for Children's Arts, the International Inclusive Arts Network, Blue Apple, Face Front’s Fear Summit, the Participatory Arts London (PAL) Network, and for Emory PhD students at Notre Dame University (USA) for their "Shakespeare and Community: Narratives of Transformative Practice” programme.
I have written and advised on strategy, contributed to steering committees and stepped into the role of chair when required. I worked alongside Lord Graham Tope to develop the constitution for (and launch) Arts Network Sutton, a charity to support local arts initiatives and serving as acting treasurer in its first year.
I have collaborated with the Theatre’s Trust and the Mayor’s Culture Team to safeguard theatre buildings in Sutton. Throughout my time at SAVVY Theatre, I regularly worked with Croydon Council’s Director for Culture & Community Safety, the Senior Leadership Team at Fairfield Halls and representatives from Croydon’s Business Zone on strategies for re-invigorating the night-time economy and cultural offering post-pandemic. I was an early advisor for Croydon’s successful bid for London Borough of Culture in 2023 and supported the ongoing delivery and evaluation of the programme.
Most recently I have consulted with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council as they consider options for re-opening the Harlequin Theatre, and safeguarding cultural provision in the borough.
I have an exceptional ability to work with both senior leadership teams, boards, policy makers, and grassroots organisations, and am particularly skilled at ‘joining the dots’ – showing how multiple issues relate and impact on each other.
